Scotland picked up an important victory in World Cup qualifiying on Monday as Steve Clarke's men recorded a 2-0 victory away to Belarus.
Che Adams opened the scoring for the visiting team in Zalaegerszeg before a Zakhar Volkov own-goal gave Scotland some breathing space in the second half.
Andy Robertson may have seen his place in Liverpool's team taken by Milos Kerkez at the start of this season, but he remains a regular starter for Scotland, and he received good feedback for his performance against Belarus from the Scottish press. The Daily Mail handed Robertson a six out of 10 in its player ratings, saying: "Linked well with Gannon Doak. Delivered a range of crosses, one of which Adams should have converted near the end."
The Herald, meanwhile, gave Robertson a seven out of 10, saying: "Combined with Gannon Doak well on the left flank, and provided quality deliveries into the box from deep. A necessary mature performance from the Scotland captain."
Another seven out of 10 came Robertson's way from The Scotsman. "The captain once again patrolled the left flank and looked to support Gannon Doak whenever the Scots went on the offensive," the reporter wrote. "Had one slack back-pass that Gunn would not thank him for, and the hosts tried to go over the top of him on a few occasions. Like the rest of the defence, showed up fine."
Edinburgh News handed Robertson a six out of 10, saying: "Dangerous free-kick headed over by Souttar. Caught under the ball midway through second half which led to a half-chance. Terrific driving run and cross to pick out Adams late on."
A common theme of the above ratings was the praise for the link-up play between Robertson and former Liverpool teammate Ben Gannon Doak down Scotland's left flank.
Robertson praised Doak after the game, saying: "He's obviously a special talent. He's exciting, he wants to take people on at any given moment, which is brilliant. I thought his decision-making today, on the whole, was good. I had to tell him off one or two times, but nothing like I had to used to!
"He was excellent and you need players like that in the game today, to just go and take somebody on, go and stretch them in behind. I thought he was excellent."
Doak, meanwhile, said of his link-up with Robertson: "He's won everything, there's not a better player to play in front of."
Doak left Liverpool to join Bournemouth during the summer transfer window, but the Reds inserted a buy-back clause in the deal should they wish to bring him back to Anfield in the future.
