Liverpool has been linked to Aston Villa midfielder Morgan Rogers in recent weeks, and the Reds could have a secret weapon in the transfer battle.
Liverpool utilized its full allure to secure the signings of Alexander Isak, Florian Wirtz, and Hugo Ekitike during the summer, following its Premier League title victory last season.
It's yet to be seen whether Arne Slot's new additions will bring him further triumphs. However, Rogers is one of the latest names to be linked with the club, identified in reports as a potential successor for the iconic Mohamed Salah when his illustrious Liverpool career eventually draws to a close. The 23-year-old earned his ninth England cap during Tuesday's 5-0 victory over Serbia in Belgrade.
Playing for the national team is just one of several accomplishments for Rogers since his notable transfer from Middlesbrough to Villa nearly two years ago.
Having also bagged the PFA Young Player of the Year award last month, if Rogers continues to impress this season for his club, there's likely to be increased interest from clubs in the Premier League and throughout Europe.
However, Liverpool might have an additional advantage if it comes down to a battle for the midfielder.
Recently, it's been hard to overlook the fact that the midfielder has developed a strong friendship with former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson.
They shared each other's Instagram stories after Brentford's clash with Villa in the league last month, repeated this during England training the previous week, and have done so once more following the Three Lions' victory in which both featured prominently.
Henderson ranks amongst the national squad's most experienced players, and Rogers could pick up valuable insights from the former Premier League and Champions League victor.
However, they won't spend endless hours discussing England camp matters - Henderson finds himself perfectly placed to extol the virtues of the club where he spent 12 years of his career, should Rogers desire further information.
For the time being, though, it appears the midfielder remains unfazed by potential future transfers.
He dismissed external speculation by emphasising how crucial Villa boss Unai Emery's backing proves to him.
Rogers said: "It means everything. As a player, when you feel wanted, loved, and you feel like they want you to be there and want you to be a key member of the squad, it means everything to you as a player.
"As a player, it's alright having outside noise and fans liking you, that's one thing, but to have the manager, who picks the team, to back you - that means everything."
