Liverpool will be without Joe Gomez for the trip to Tottenham on Saturday, but Jeremie Frimpong is expected to be available and Dominik Szoboszlai could be too, Arne Slot has confirmed.
Cody Gakpo will not be back before next week, but the Dutchman has had a scan that suggests his issue is not as bad as first feared. Szoboszlai limped off in Liverpool's 2-0 win over Brighton last weekend. He also underwent a scan this week, and it appears that the injury is not as bad as it might have been.
The Hungarian tried to play on after receiving treatment, which suggested it was not going to be a lengthy absence. He remains one booking away from a suspension and has to reach the 19-game mark without collecting another yellow.
Szoboszlai took part in parts of team training yesterday, while Frimpong is now fully over his injury.
Gomez, meanwhile, picked up an injury in the first half of the Brighton game. He was replaced by Mohamed Salah, who will be missing here as he is now with Egypt for AFCON.
Frimpong has been absent since the Champions League win at Eintracht Frankfurt on October 22. He went off early on in that game with a muscle issue that he has been sidelined with since.
Giovanni Leoni is a long-term absentee and Wataru Endo has an ankle issue, but Conor Bradley is now back available again having served a one-match suspension for reaching five bookings.
"Gakpo had a scan that looks promising, so we're not that worried anymore that we were a few weeks ago," Slot said.
"He will come back early but not tomorrow or next week.
"Joe Gomez is not in the squad [for Tottenham]. Szoboszlai trained yesterday, in parts, so let's see how he is today. Jeremie Frimpong is back in the squad."
