Liverpool has no fresh injury concerns after the game against West Ham, but Florian Wirtz remains sidelined for the trip against Wolves.

Wirtz has been sidelined with a back issue since the Nottingham Forest game after the Reds were forced to make a late change to the starting XI.

The German midfielder's absence was felt at Anfield on Saturday as the Reds struggled to create many chances from open play, scoring the majority of their goals from set pieces. It comes after Arne Slot received a boost with the return of Jeremie Frimpong, with the Dutchman instrumental in his cameo against Nuno Espirito Santos' side, forcing an own goal to secure a 5-2 win.

"The game probably comes too soon tomorrow and maybe the game at the weekend," Slot said about Wirtz. "We hope to have him back next week. Maybe earlier. Maybe a bit later. But that timescale.”

Dominik Szoboszlai is expected to operate as the most advanced midfielder again, while Curtis Jones, an unused substitute against West Ham, provides another option to step into the starting XI.

Alexander Isak remains out with a broken leg, though the Swede is progressing in his recovery and could return toward the end of the month.

Wataru Endo has undergone surgery on the injury he suffered at Sunderland, but is still in contention to feature at the World Cup this summer. Conor Bradley and Giovanni Leoni continue to be ruled out with long-term issues.

With Bradley out and limited options at right-back, Slot said he will continue to manage the minutes of both Frimpong and Joe Gomez, who has also suffered with injury problems this season.

"Having Jeremie back is nice, but we have three games in seven days, and you have to take that into account, especially when players come back from injuries," Slot said.

"We know the importance of every game. It is a challenge for the player, the manager and the performance staff. I prefer to have the problem of managing his minutes, rather than seeing him with the medical staff."

The Reds have two trips to the Molineux in three days, first in the Premier League on Tuesday, before the two sides meet in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Friday. However, Slot has emphasized that this will not impact his preparations. “It’s not unusual that we play three games in seven days for us," said the Dutchman.

“Does it bring a challenge? Maybe for the second game a little bit more because then you know even better what to expect, but that I also like mainly.

"I also like [it] in the Champions League because the first time you play each other, mainly in the Champions League you don’t play each other that much, so it’s a bit new, but the second time you can prepare your team even better.

"Especially if the team you face does the same again. But now, being in the Premier League, we played them [Wolves] already once [and] you see a lot of games of them because they play against teams that we are facing as well.

"You know each other that well that I don’t see that much difference between playing each other twice in three days or that there’s a longer period in between."
