Liverpool turns its attention to Europe as the Reds return to Champions League action with a trip to Marseille.
Liverpool currently sits outside the top eight in the Champions League group stage, trailing only on goal difference. If the Reds fail to improve their standing in upcoming matches against Marseille and Qarabag, they will face an additional play-off round.
This would add two more fixtures to an already congested schedule, with the first leg set for either February 17 or 18 and the return leg on February 24 or 25. Arne Slot will be keen for his team to secure a top-eight finish and avoid the extra round.

Full-back Conor Bradley saw his campaign cut short after suffering a knee injury just minutes before the final whistle in Liverpool’s draw with Arsenal.
On Wednesday, the 22-year-old confirmed he had undergone successful surgery to address the injury, announcing that his "comeback starts now."
“A big blow, but surgery is done, so the comeback starts now. It won’t be for a little while, but I already can’t wait to get back playing for Liverpool and Northern Ireland. Thanks for all the support,” Bradley wrote on Instagram.
Teammates quickly showed their support following the post. While Liverpool has not specified a recovery timeline, it is expected that Bradley will miss the remainder of the 2025-26 season, with a potential return penciled in for preseason ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.
Meanwhile, Alexander Isak continues to be sidelined as he recovers from a lower leg injury sustained during December’s clash with Tottenham. The forward underwent surgery and is not expected to return to action until at least March.

Additionally, Giovanni Leoni is on the road to recovery, with a targeted comeback planned for summer 2026. The 18-year-old suffered a serious ACL injury on his Anfield debut against last September, ruling him out for an extended period.
Reds fans will be hoping that Mohamed Salah will be available for the trip to Marseille. Salah will return to Merseyside after his Africa Cup of Nations campaign ended on a disappointing note, with Egypt losing consecutive matches to finish the tournament in fourth place.
"He's due back next week," Slot said. "We're in talks with him over what we expect over here. That (whether he will be available against Marseille) is something we're talking with him about."
"I'm happy that he comes back because Mo has been so important for this club," Slot added.
"Even if I had 15 attackers, I still would have been happy if he came back, but that's not our current situation. I'm happy to have him back after an important game he has to play for Egypt."
