Liverpool does not return to action in the Premier League until Sunday when it travels to Burnley, but plenty of Arne Slot's key men have been playing this week.
On Sunday, four Liverpool stars were on duty for their nations in World Cup qualifying, with three coming out on the winning side. Not everyone was content, though, even if results tended to be positive for the Reds' men in action.
Florian Wirtz, for instance, scored a sensational free-kick for Germany, but the national media in his homeland were generally unimpressed by his performance, claiming that he has "lost his joy" since moving to Liverpool.
"A home game for the Effzeh talent, born in the Cologne suburb of Pulheim, who rose to world-class status across the Rhine in Leverkusen," German outlet Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung said.
"But also a home advantage? Not really. He seems to have forgotten his joy of playing in Liverpool. But not his free-kick skills in the 3-1 win, which boosted his rating."
Wirtz scored, created the most chances, and only gave possession away a handful of times, but his ratings were a mixture of threes and fours. The 22-year-old, the general feeling seemed to be, was almost trying too hard.
"His exceptional ball skills also brought occasional moments of joy to the Cologne crowd, but Wirtz is currently having problems with his technique," Suddeutscher Verlag said.
"Too often, he seeks personal salvation in it when he wants to create something truly special with solo performances. Sometimes it borders on the need to make a name for himself."
Conor Bradley was in the Northern Ireland team that Germany beat, putting in a solid enough showing. He came up against Wirtz with both Liverpool players deployed on the same side of the field.
Elsewhere, Virgil van Dijk and Cody Gakpo both played the full game as the Netherlands won 3-2 against Lithuania, with Ryan Gravenberch sitting the contest out — no bad thing for Liverpool as he got a rest.

Memphis Depay became the Netherlands' top scorer of all time by netting a late winner. Gakpo had set up the opener, and Quinten Timber doubled the lead, but Lithuania had leveled things up by half-time.
Gakpo hit the crossbar after the interval and Depay scored a third for his side, with the Netherlands sitting top of their qualifying group, having played a game less than Poland in second.
Giorgi Mamardashvili, meanwhile, kept a clean sheet in a 3-0 win for Georgia against Bulgaria. Khvicha Khvaratskelia opened the scoring, with Nika Gagnidze and Georges Mikautadze also netting.
Later on Monday, Andy Robertson will play for Scotland against Belarus, and Alexander Isak could make an appearance off the bench for Sweden as it takes on Kosovo.
