Liverpool has been linked with a summer move for 20-year-old wonderkid Bazoumana Toure.

Despite spending big last summer on Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, and Alexander Isak, Liverpool is on the hunt for more attacking talent this summer, with reports suggesting the Reds want to bring in as many as four new players to improve their first-team squad.

And with Mohamed Salah already confirmed to leave the club at the end of the current season, the Reds do need reinforcements in attack to give their squad some balance. With the opening of the transfer window drawing closer, Liverpool has been linked to Hoffenheim star Bazoumana Toure, who has impressed in the Bundesliga this season.

The 20-year-old has scored three goals and registered 11 assists this season in the Bundesliga, with Toure predominantly playing on the left wing. He has also featured sparsely at striker and on the right wing.

According to Sky Germany, Liverpool has reportedly been keeping tabs on the Ivorian winger, whom they have registered an interest in.

Toure's contract with Hoffenheim runs until 2029, and it does not include a release fee clause. However, it has also been reported that Hoffenheim wants to make Toure, if sold, its record sale.

Hoffenheim's current record sale is that of Joelinton's 2019 move to Newcastle, which saw the Magpies pay $51 million (£40M/€43.5M) for the Brazilian.

The Ivorian international joined Hoffenheim from Swedish side Hammarby last year, with the Bundesliga side's sporting director Andreas Schicker recently praising Toure for how he had developed as a player in such a short space of time.

"Bazou has developed very well," said Schicker.

"We brought him from Sweden a year and a half ago. You can clearly see, week after week, the qualities he brings.

"With him, it’s like this: if there is interest – and you can already sense that because he keeps delivering every week – then it has to be at a level that may not have been seen before at Hoffenheim."

With Hoffenheim wanting to sell Toure for more than what Newcastle paid for Joelinton, that fee, while a record for the Bundesliga side, would cost Liverpool less than what it would to land RB Leipzig's Yan Diomande, another winger linked to the Reds.

RB Leipzig wants $117.3 million (£86million/€100million) for Diomande, who, like Toure, has impressed in the Bundesliga this season.

The 19-year-old, also from the Ivory Coast, has scored 11 goals and registered 5 assists in the Bundesliga this season. Diomande would also likely fit Liverpool better as an attacking option, considering he predominantly plays on the right wing, which could see him end up as Salah's replacement should the Reds want to pay Leipzig's lofty asking price.
