Liverpool Legends squad confirmed so far as potential starting line-ups vs Chelsea take shape

Liverpool Legends are set to play a rematch against Chelsea Legends this weekend after winning the first game between the sides at Anfield earlier this year.

The likes of Sander Westerveld, Fabio Aurelio, Martin Skrtel, Ragnar Klavan, Mark Gonzalez, Jay Spearing, Gregory Vignal, Igor Biscan, Florent Sinama-Pongolle, and Natasha Dowie are all returning to play again.

Liverpool won the last game between the sides by two goals to nil. Peter Crouch scored a brace. So far, though, the ex-England ace has not been announced as taking part in the rematch. It is possible that more players are added to the roster to flesh it out further.

Last month, it was confirmed that Pepe Reina will make his first appearance for the Liverpool Legends after he retired from playing in the summer at the age of 42. Stephane Henchoz, meanwhile, has also been signed up to face Chelsea.

Goalkeepers: Pepe Reina, Sander Westerveld.

Defenders: Fabio Aurelio, Gregory Vignal, Igor Biscan, Martin Skrtel, Ragnar Klavan, Stephane Henchoz, Martin Kelly.

Midfielders: Jay Spearing, Mark Gonzalez, Yossi Benayoun, Ryan Babel.

Forwards: Robbie Keane, Florent Sinama-Pongolle, Natasha Dowie.

In the dugout, Ian Rush will be alongside John Aldridge, Phil Thompson and Sammy Lee.

Last season, the LFC Foundation supported more than 145,000 people. The club’s official charity helps to tackle social inequalities in its communities through programs that have a positive impact on health, learning and employment outcomes.

Chelsea also has a strong team of players available, including Eden Hazard, who is only six months older than Mohamed Salah.

Defenders: John Terry, William Gallas, Gary Cahill, Marcel Desailly, Frank Sinclair, Jon Harley.

Midfielders: Joe Cole, Ramires, Jody Morris, Katie Chapman.

Forwards: Salomon Kalou, Eidur Gudjohnsen, Eden Hazard, Gianfranco Zola, Diego Costa, Gemma Davison.
