When you look at the table, you’ll see Liverpool’s chances of qualifying for next season’s Champions League have actually improved. Sunday’s draw against Tottenham told a very different story though.
The Reds went into the game knowing that a win would take them up to fourth in the Premier League, having seen both Chelsea and Aston Villa lose beforehand. Against a crisis-ridden Spurs team though, Arne Slot’s side produced yet another insipid display, throwing away yet another lead late on to draw 1-1.
The boos that greeted Liverpool’s players at full-time from the Anfield crowd told them everything they needed to know. This was a huge opportunity missed, and it doesn’t bode well for their chances of claiming a spot in next season’s Champions League.

Here’s how the next five league fixtures look for each side…
Liverpool's next five Premier League games
- Brighton (A) - March 21
- Fulham (H) - April 11
- Everton (A) - April 19
- Crystal Palace (H) - April 25
- Man Utd (A) - May 2
Having spurned a golden opportunity against Tottenham, Liverpool needs to make the most of its next few fixtures before heading into a tough final month of the season, when it will face all three of United, Chelsea and Villa.
Of course, should the Reds progress in the Champions League and FA Cup, then the fixture list could end up looking a lot more hectic. With the way they're playing at the moment though, you wouldn't bet on them overcoming Galatasaray and Manchester City.
Man Utd's next five Premier League games
- Bournemouth (A) - March 20
- Leeds (H) - April 13
- Chelsea (A) - April 18
- Brentford (H) - April 27
- Liverpool (H) - May 2
United is looking the most likely out of the four contenders to wrap up a spot in the top five. In fact, if Manchester City continues to drop points, Michael Carrick's side might fancy their chances of stealing second at this rate.
The eye is immediately drawn to those games against Chelsea and Liverpool - the Reds might not be too disappointed to see their great rival winning at Stamford Bridge before they head to Old Trafford.

Aston Villa's next five Premier League games
- West Ham (H) - March 22
- Nottingham Forest (A) - April 11
- Sunderland (H) - April 18
- Fulham (A) - April 25
- Tottenham (H) - May 2
Having been considered potential title challengers not too long ago, Villa now look like they have their work cut out just to qualify for next season's Champions League.
On paper, Unai Emery's side has a much more favorable set of fixtures to come, but with just one point from their last four games, nerves might be jangling at Villa Park now.
Chelsea's next five Premier League games
- Everton (A) - March 21
- Man City (H) - April 12
- Man Utd (H) - April 18
- Brighton (A) - April 26
- Nottingham Forest (H) - May 2
Chelsea now finds itself chasing, having fallen behind in the race for the top five, and if Brentford wins against Wolves on Monday, the Blues will be just a point ahead of the Bees.
There's some tough-looking fixtures on the horizon for Liam Rosenior's side, although they do have the advantage of playing at home against City and United - not that it helped them against Newcastle at the weekend.
