Liverpool next 5 Premier League games compared to Arsenal and Man City

1 hour ago 34

Liverpool reclaimed top spot in the Premier League with a dramatic late penalty winner against Burnley on Sunday.

The Reds have now won all four of their games at the start of the season with goals that were scored after the 80-minute mark, and it is ominous for the chasing pack that Arne Slot's men have won all of their games while playing far from their best.

There were also wins over the weekend for Arsenal and Manchester City, who both recorded 3-0 victories.

One-time Liverpool target Martin Zubimendi was on target for the Gunners twice on Saturday as they beat Nottingham Forest, while Erling Haaland also grabbed a brace in the Manchester derby the following day.

Many expect Arsenal and City to be Liverpool's closest challengers in the title race when all is said and done, so how do the three teams' Premier League schedules compare in the coming weeks?

Liverpool's next five fixtures

  • Everton (h) - September 20, 12:30
  • Crystal Palace (a) - September 27, 15:00
  • Chelsea (a) - October 4, 17:30
  • Manchester United (h) - October 19, 16:30
  • Brentford (a) - October 25. 20:00

All kick-off times BST

The Reds haven't really got going — performance-wise, at least — this season, and it just won't be possible for them to keep winning every game in the manner that they have been doing.

They have some stern tests ahead in the coming weeks, with a trip to Chelsea at the beginning of October looking like the toughest assignment on paper.

As well as other trips to the capital to face Crystal Palace and Brentford, there are the small matters of the Merseyside derby and Manchester United's visit to Anfield.

Arsenal's next five fixtures

  • Manchester City (h) - September 21, 16:30
  • Newcastle (a) - September 28, 16:30
  • West Ham (h) - October 4, 15:00
  • Fulham (a) - October 18, 17:30
  • Crystal Palace (h) - October 26, 14:00

Arsenal has a couple of really tough games coming up, with Manchester City visiting the Emirates Stadium next weekend before a trip to Newcastle a week later.

The fixtures look a bit kinder in October, though, with London derbies against a very beatable West Ham side, Fulham and Crystal Palace all on the horizon.

Man City's next five fixtures

  • Arsenal (a) - September 21, 16:30
  • Burnley (h) - September 27, 15:00
  • Brentford (a) - October 5, 16:30
  • Everton (h) - October 18, 15:00
  • Aston Villa (a) - October 26 14:00

Only time will tell whether City's win over United signifies that that Pep Guardiola's men are back on track — in truth, Ruben Amorim's men were so hapless against their neighbors that they would have been beaten by most Premier League teams on Sunday.

A better test of City's title credentials will come away to Arsenal this weekend.

After that, the Blues have a run of winnable fixtures, with Burnley and Everton traveling to the Etihad Stadium, and trips to Brentford and a currently goalless Aston Villa side on the agenda.
