PSG have made signing top French talent a priority in recent transfer windows, bringing in Bradley Barcola, Désiré Doué, and Lucas Chevalier.
Now, the club could turn its attention to bolstering the defense with another French standout. While Liverpool’s Ibrahima Konaté has been linked to PSG, a new option may be emerging.
Bayern Munich’s Dayot Upamecano is set to become a free agent after the 2025-26 season, and PSG are reportedly among the clubs keeping a close eye on him. Still, landing Upamecano is likely to be challenging, with strong competition expected.
Liverpool Have PSG Target on Their Radar

Sport Bild’s Christian Falk reports that Liverpool has emerged as the latest club interested in Upamecano. The Reds are reportedly eyeing him as a potential replacement for his France teammate Ibrahima Konaté, whose contract runs out next summer.
Bayern Munich are pushing to extend Upamecano’s deal, but as time goes on and more clubs join the chase, any potential renewal could become increasingly costly for the German side.
This news follows a report from Diario AS stating that Real Madrid is still searching for a centre-back ahead of next season, keeping an eye on Upamecano as well as Konaté and William Saliba.
At the same time, Falk reports that PSG is also monitoring Upamecano. The French club sees him as a potential option and could move to sign him if he becomes a free agent next summer.
