Liverpool receives injury boost ahead of Champions League clash vs Atletico Madrid

Liverpool's players trained on Tuesday at Liverpool's AXA Training Centre, ahead of the upcoming Champions League clash against Atletico Madrid.

The Reds begin their European campaign on Wednesday when Diego Simeone's side travels to Anfield hoping for a repeat of that infamous Champions League elimination in 2020.

And there was good news from the session in Kirkby with Alexis Mac Allister among the group that trained. The midfielder was replaced at half-time in Sunday's win over Burnley. While Arne Slot played down the severity of the issue post-match, the sight of the Argentinian on the grass was nontheless a welcome boost.

However, Curtis Jones was not involved in Tuesday's open training.
