Several Liverpool stars have already shared their thoughts on the record-breaking signing of Alexander Isak.
The Reds announced the club-record deal for the Swedish striker on Monday, which is also a British record transfer fee. Liverpool had agreed to a £125 million ($169 million) fee to bring Isak from Newcastle before deadline day, ending months of relentless speculation.
The deal was sealed a few hours after the deadline, with Isak being handed the No. 9 shirt, left vacant following Darwin Nunez's exit from the Premier League. Isak is now set to join the Sweden national team during the international break before participating in his first training sessions as a Liverpool player.
His debut could be against Burnley on September 14 in the club's first match post-international break, after which the Reds will take on Atletico Madrid and Everton at Anfield in the Champions League and Premier League, respectively.
In what has been one of the summer's most significant transfer sagas, it has prompted reactions from the Liverpool dressing room on social media.
The Reds posted multiple times on their Instagram account following Isak's announcement, including photos and videos from the striker's signing day.
The post confirming Isak's signing received over 400,000 likes, including some from Hugo Ekitike and Milos Kerkez, as well as former Liverpool star Luis Diaz.
Another post, captioned "Worth the wait" and featuring a photo of Isak, was liked by Virgil van Dijk and Conor Bradley. Diaz and club legend Ian Rush also showed their appreciation for both posts.
"I feel amazing," said Isak after joining Liverpool.
"It’s been a long journey to get here. But I’m super-happy to be a part of this team, this club, and everything it stands for.
"It’s something I’m proud of and I’m really looking forward to it.
"I’m just happy it’s done and that I can get back to work. I’m looking forward to seeing my teammates and the fans, and getting back out there."
Isak added: "I think I have a lot to give, I think I have a lot to improve.
"I’m a striker, but I always want to give as much as possible to the team, mainly goals, but much more than that as well.
"I want to win everything. Yeah, [as simple as that]."
