Liverpool began the new Premier League season with a 4-2 win over Bournemouth at Anfield, with Hugo Ekitike, Cody Gakpo, Federico Chiesa and Mohamed Salah all getting on the scoresheet.
Next up for Arne Slot's side is a trip to Newcastle United, where the atmosphere could be electric under the lights and amid the Reds' pursuit of Alexander Isak. Magpies fans are not happy at all with the Swede, who was branded "greedy" by the away end after their team drew 0-0 with 10-man Aston Villa.
Before we know it, the first international break of the new season will be upon us — it coincides with the September 1 transfer deadline. But there are only a couple more games to be played before then.
After facing Newcastle in a week's time, Liverpool then finishes September with a home game against title rival Arsenal. Burnley away comes after that and before the Anfield Merseyside derby.
Liverpool then has two back-to-back away games in the Premier League, with matches at Crystal Palace and then Chelsea. That takes us all the way to the first weekend in October — and the second international break.
"We handled it really well," Alisson Becker said on NBC after Liverpool beat Newcastle. "At the game, you want the result for the first thing, but also we are concerned about how we get the result, that’s why we’ve been in training in the pre-season.
"Of course, with all of the things that happened in the last month with us, it wasn’t easy. It’s never easy. But I think everybody is coping in a good way because we are together.
"Today, the supporters showed us the support they have, and most important is that we are together in this.
"We have big goals and big targets for this season. That is to fight for the title again, not only for the Premier League but for the other competitions, because this is the standard of Liverpool FC."
"We start with a win, a lot of good things, good moments with and without the ball," Virgil van Dijk said. "Unfortunately, we conceded two goals on the break where we should have done better overall.

"But under the circumstances, an emotional night for all of us, first game of the season against a team that will never give up, well known for it, in my opinion, with a great manager, we managed to get the three points.
"We have a lot of days to work in the upcoming week to be ready for the next game. I'm pleased with the performances of [the new] guys.
"I think they were all tired towards the moment where they got subbed. That's absolutely normal. The Premier League is the hardest league in the world, the demands are so high and you just have to get used to it.
"I think the guys will do so perfectly. Time for them to recover. Like I said, we have plenty of days now to prepare for Newcastle and we have to be ready because it's going to be tough there."
Liverpool.com says: Slot's side should be looking for as close to maximum points as possible in the next run, though no game will be easy. Newcastle, in particular, is going to be a ferocious atmosphere, with the fans agitated about the Isak saga.
