Liverpool remains without a Premier League win in 2026 after experiencing a fourth successive draw in the top flight, at home to Burnley.

The Reds produced one of their better performances in recent times but were not clinical enough in front of goal, with Dominik Szoboszlai's missed penalty setting the tone for a frustrating afternoon.

Liverpool led at half-time through Florian Wirtz's goal, but Marcus Edwards' second-half striked earned the Clarets a point.

Arne Slot's men remain inside the Premier League's Champions League qualification spots, but only one point separates Liverpool and Manchester United in fourth and fifith place respectively, after United's win over Manchester City on Saturday.

Liverpool's next five Premier League fixtures

Liverpool is next in Premier League action on January 24, when the team goes to Bournemouth.

Mohamed Salah will be back in time for that fixture, and Slot expressed last week that he was pleased that he would soon have Salah back and available for selection, as it will ease his selection issues in attack.

Alexander Isak is currently injured, while Hugo Ekitike and Cody Gakpo have also had spells on the sidelines in recent weeks.

"I'm happy that he comes back because Mo has been so important for this club," Slot said. "Even if I had 15 attackers, I still would have been happy if he came back, but that's not our current situation."

The Bournemouth game is followed by a couple of tricky assignments at Anfield, against Newcastle and Manchester City.

Liverpool beat Newcastle at St. James' Park earlier in the season, but the Reds are in a relatively low ebb at the moment, and Newcastle is in a good moment after starting 2026 three successive Premier League wins.

The Reds have a good record against City at Anfield, but both teams have their problems at the moment, with City also yet to win in 2026, so it's anybody's guess which team will come out on top in that one.

After those two home games, the Reds face back-to-back away games against Sunderland and Nottingham Forest.

Liverpool failed to win either of the reverse fixtures, drawing 1-1 with Sunderland at home, while suffering a heavy defeat by Forest at Anfield.
