A couple of weeks after Mohamed Salah confirmed that he would be leaving Liverpool in the summer, another huge player in the club's history, Andy Robertson, has followed suit.
Salah will depart with a year left on his contract, while Robertson had been in talks about a potential extension, but the Scotland captain has decided to move on in search of more game time.
"I think I feel better now that it’s out in the open [that I'm leaving]," Robertson said. "The hardest bit [in] the last couple of weeks and months is some people that are close to me in the training ground don’t know and more importantly, the fans.

I’ve always said that the fans are the most important people at this club and I just think now is the time to tell them what’s going on and that obviously this will be my last year.
"I just think it’s better being out in the open, that now I can fully focus on the team from now until the end of the season. I think it’s important that I do that, I’ve always done that.
"But the time to have the emotional farewell and tell the fans and the people connected to this club what they mean to me, that will come closer to the end.

"I don’t think I’m quite ready for that yet. It’s just to try to get it out there so I can now be open and honest with everyone."
After the announcement was made by Robertson, his Liverpool teammates rushed to offer their messages of congratulations, with the word "Legend" cropping up a lot.
That was what Virgil van Dijk wrote on Instagram, while Florian Wirtz simply posted a praying hands emoji. "A person/player every football club needs," Curtis Jones said. "You'll be a huge miss brother. Legend."
The tributes from Joe Gomez and Mohamed Salah were longer. "Consistency at the highest level over the last nine years," the former wrote, alongside a picture of the two defenders with the Premier League trophy.

"Done it on every stage and won it all," Gomez continued. "Your standards, your mentality and your personality have had such a huge impact on all of us. You've given absolutely everything for this club and everyone within it."
Salah, too, touched on the bond that he has shared with Robertson. Both players have been at the club for the best part of a decade, winning every major trophy together.
"With these pictures showing the bond we shared, I almost felt I could get away with saying nothing about you leaving," Salah began.
"It's been an honour to be your teammate and your friend. You've won it all and you leave as a legend. I'm sure we will meet again."
Liverpool.com says: The Reds are losing a really good player in Robertson, but a vital part of the leadership group too. That will be very difficult to replace when the summer comes, with the messages from his teammates saying it all.
