Liverpool kicks off a decisive couple of months today as the Reds look to salvage what has been a disappointing season so far - and set themselves up for another big summer.
Arne Slot takes his side to Manchester City in the FA Cup as he looks to move a step closer to a second piece of silverware in charge of the Reds. The priority for the Dutchman though remains to get his team into the Champions League.
That could have a huge impact on Liverpool’s summer transfer plans, which have taken on greater significance after Mohamed Salah announced he will be leaving the club. According to the latest reports, the Egyptian may have moved a step closer to finding a new club.

Mohamed Salah (Liverpool)
The Saudi Pro League is increasingly confident of securing Salah’s signature this summer after a fresh round of talks, according to TeamTalk.
It’s claimed that Saudi chiefs and Salah have effectively had an agreement in place for around a year for the winger to move to the Middle East at the end of his time at Anfield.

Plans are now being accelerated, with Salah set to be given the freedom to choose his preferred destination in the Pro League. Al-Ittihad is said to be leading the race for his signature, although clubs in Italy and Germany are also said to be monitoring the 33-year-old closely.
Liverpool.com says: Although the time is right for Salah to move, he should still have plenty of options to choose from this summer.
Saudi Arabia does feel like the most likely destination, but if he feels like he can still cut it in Europe, you wouldn't put it beyond him heading somewhere like Italy.
Yan Diomande (RB Leipzig)
Liverpool will face competition from Manchester United for Yan Diomande’s signing this summer, according to SportsBoom.
The RB Leipzig winger is one of the early names being touted as a potential replacement for Salah, and it’s claimed that the 19-year-old is on the Reds’ wanted list. However, United are said to have an ace up their sleeve.
It’s suggested that ex-Leipzig star Benjamin Sesko, who made the move to Old Trafford last summer, will speak to his former club in an effort to try and convince Diomande to follow him to United. Newcastle is also linked, although its chances of signing the winger aren’t rated highly.

Liverpool.com says: We're not convinced that Sesko will hold that much sway in Leipzig's transfer plans. The club will be more interested getting as much money as possible, not what one of its former strikers wants.
With Diomande's price tag widely reported to be €100 million ($115M), it will surely just be a question of who comes closest to that, or meets the asking price head on. With just a year in the Bundesliga under his belt, no doubt clubs will be trying to negotiate that price down a bit.
