Liverpool transfer news as the Reds could face competition for Micky van de Ven's signing this summer, while the club is said to be irritated by demands for one of its stars

The end of the season is almost in sight, and a big summer looks as though it will be lying in wait for Liverpool.
With just five games remaining, thoughts will soon be turning to the transfer window, and Arne Slot looks as though he should be boosted by Champions League qualification for any business he and sporting director Richard Hughes have planned.
Of course, another big spending spree like last summer is unlikely, but after a disappointing season, it’s clear the Reds’ squad still needs some surgery conducting on it. That is already underway, with Jeremy Jacquet on his way as Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson prepare to leave, and plenty more business could be in the pipeline.

Micky van de Ven (Tottenham)
Liverpool could face competition from Manchester United for the signing of Micky van de Ven, with The Athletic claiming that the Tottenham defender is being considered by the Red Devils.
Van de Ven has been linked with a move to Anfield this summer, and with Spurs sliding closer to relegation from the Premier League, he could be one of a number of stars to leave north London.
United looks to have thrown its hat into the ring now though, with the Old Trafford club keen to add to its options in defense, given the amount of injuries it has suffered in that department.

Liverpool.com says: Although Van de Ven has been linked with a move to Liverpool a lot, the Reds may be able to turn their attentions away from signing a new center-back this summer. With Jacquet on the way and Ibrahima Konate looking as though he will stay, a new defender will probably be low on the list of priorities now.
In any case, there are questions marks about Van de Ven's suitability. Tottenham hasn't exactly thrived with him in its team, and he has had his fair share of injuries, which would make his signing a bit of a gamble.
Alisson Becker (Liverpool)
Liverpool is reportedly growing irritated over Juventus’ demands for signing Alisson Becker. The goalkeeper has been linked with a move back to Italy this summer, despite an option being taken up by the Reds for an extra year on his contract.
Reports this week have suggested that Alisson has been in talks with Juventus, although the chances of him joining the Turin club have been played down recently. Nevertheless, Corriere dello Sport claims that Juve remains in discussions over a potential deal.

Liverpool is said to have set an asking price between £9 million ($12M) and £13 million ($18M), but even that is proving too much for Juventus, with the Italian club asking for it to be lowered or removed altogether. That has reportedly irked the Reds, who are standing by their valuation.
Liverpool.com says: It would be ridiculous for Liverpool to back down from that valuation for Alisson, if it is indeed open to selling the Brazilian this summer.
Although he has had his injury problems, the 33-year-old is still one of, if not the best goalkeeper in the world, and there is no way the Reds should let him walk away for free while he's still under contract.
