Liverpool transfer news as Dominik Szoboszlai has reportedly agreed a deal amid Real Madrid interest, while a potential target has given an update on his 'dream' move

It appears to be another bustling month on Merseyside for Arne Slot and his Liverpool coaching team, who are keen to kick on after a disappointing start to the season. The club might consider dipping into the January transfer window to provide the Reds with a much-needed lift for the second half of the campaign.

However, as already demonstrated, securing new signings this winter amidst fierce competition could prove challenging. Dominik Szoboszlai 'agrees' deal

Dominik Szoboszlai is reportedly in agreement in principle to extend his contract at Liverpool. The Hungarian midfielder has been a shining light in Slot's team this season, demonstrating versatility by playing in his natural central position, as well as on the right flank and as a makeshift fullback.

Consequently, the 25-year-old is said to have attracted interest from several of Europe's elite clubs, including Bayern Munich and Real Madrid. However, according to CaughtOffside, Szoboszlai is expected to remain at Anfield this month and is also set to pen an extension with his current club.

This will be welcomed by Liverpool supporters, considering how crucial Szoboszlai has been since arriving at the club in 2023.

Yan Diomande issues 'dream' update

Liverpool is amongst several clubs reportedly keen on Yan Diomande this month, as the winger continues to shine in the Bundesliga with RB Leipzig. Recently, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United and Bayern Munich have also been linked with monitoring the 19-year-old's progress.

Yet, if his latest remarks about Liverpool are any indication, the Reds may hold a marginal edge when it comes to securing his signature in the coming months. That's because Diomande has revealed that he once dreamt of playing under Jurgen Klopp at Anfield.

He said: "I couldn't believe it, because I used to dream of playing on his team. And now I meet him and exchange messages with him. It's crazy, I'm so happy about it."

Nevertheless, Diomande has also clarified that he isn't entertaining thoughts about transfers at the moment, with his involvement at the Africa Cup of Nations having just come to an end after defeat to Egypt.

He added: "I don't pay any attention to the rumors. I try to stay focused, calm, and humble. For that, I need 100 per cent. I'm doing my job here and not worrying about anything else."
