Liverpool will be active in the summer transfer market, no matter how the remainder of the campaign goes for Arne Slot's side, though Virgil van Dijk admitted this week that missing out on the Champions League would have a knock-on effect.
"The stakes are very high," he told reporters. "Listen, if you play for Liverpool, it's always been like that. It's down to us, together with our fans, to get the results we need to get into the Champions League. Either we get it and we deserve it or we don't get it and we don't deserve it."
Here is the Liverpool.com verdict on the transfer gossip to emerge around the Reds today. We start with an update on Elliot Anderson, who has been linked with a move to Anfield in the last few months.

Liverpool and Manchester United have both watched Elliot Anderson this season, but Manchester City is ready to step up its pursuit of the England international, according to talkSPORT.
Anderson impressed this week as Vitor Pereira's men inflicted a Premier League title blow on Pep Guardiola's side, holding it to a 2-2 draw at the Etihad Stadium.
Set to play a key role for England alongside Declan Rice at this summer's World Cup, Anderson is viewed as a potential successor for Rodri and would cost around $93 million (£70 million).

Now 23, Anderson came through at Newcastle United but the Magpies sold him to Nottingham Forest to help their PSR position. At the time, Liverpool was in for Anthony Gordon, but Anderson and Yankuba Minteh were sold instead.
Two years on, Eddie Howe's men would like to re-sign Anderson because of how well he has done elsewhere in the Premier League. Such a move seems unlikely, however, given the other clubs to hold an interest.
Liverpool.com says: Anderson is a really good player and Manchester City would be doing well to get him for under $100M (assuming that Nottingham Forest stays in the top flight). Liverpool could also do with more midfield quality, but there might be better options available on the market.
Nathaniel Brown
Liverpool and Arsenal are among the clubs interested in signing 22-year-old left-back Nathaniel Brown from Eintracht Frankfurt, according to TeamTalk, with others in the Premier League said to be keen.
Having signed Milos Kerkez last summer, Liverpool might lose Andy Robertson this summer when his contract expires. However, spending $70 million (£51 million) on a second choice would seem unlikely.

So far, Brown has made 65 appearances for Eintracht Frankfurt in all competitions, scoring six goals and providing 13 assists in the process. He is an attack-minded full-back who has been compared to Joao Cancelo because he can also play in midfield.
Liverpool.com says: If Robertson leaves, that will leave a big hole. Kostas Tsimikas coming back from his loan at AS Roma could be one way to fill it, otherwise a signing would be required in that scenario. The Scotland captain could yet extend his deal.
