Liverpool could miss out on Marc Guehi after it was reported that Manchester City is prepared to offer him a huge financial package in order to move to the Etihad Stadium.
Team Talk reports that Guehi's preference would be to join Liverpool during the summer, but that City could try and tempt him to join Pep Guardiola's squad this month.
City is prepared to make Guehi one of its highest-paid players, with suggestions that he could be offered in excess of $300,000 per week to join the Blues.
City recognizes that, were Guehi to leave Palace this month, he would likely make less money than were he to join a new club as a free agent when his contract expires at the end of the season.

Liverpool would prefer to wait until the end of the season to sign Guehi, but City's need for a new center-back intensified earlier this month when Josko Gvardiol and Ruben Dias suffered significant injuries during a draw with Chelsea.
Chiesa to Juventus latest
Federico Chiesa has been linked with a return to Juventus in recent weeks after failing to make an impression on Liverpool head coach Arne Slot over the last 18 months.
Liverpool is reportedly only willing to allow Chiesa to leave on a permanent deal, but reports so far have suggested that Juve wants to sign the forward on loan.

Italian outlet Tuttosport, though, is now reporting that Juve would be willing to sign Chiesa on a loan deal with an obligation to buy on the condition that he makes a certain number of appearances during the second half of the season.
The landscape at Juve has changed since Chiesa reluctantly left Juve in 2024, with Giorgio Chiellini having replaced Cristiano Giuntoli as Juve's sporting director, and Luciano Spalletti in charge of the team after a couple of disappointing managerial appointments.
Prior to leaving Juventus, Chiesa was frozen out by former manager Thiago Motta, giving the Italian little choice but to continue his career away from the Bianconeri.
