Liverpool transfer news as Michael Olise move tipped and Arne Slot could sign $58M wonderkid

3 hours ago 29

Liverpool reshaped its roster in the summer window, spending huge money on several exciting additions. Arne Slot said he wanted to add "extra weapons" to his team, and sporting director Richard Hughes certainly delivered.

In the likes of Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz, Liverpool added truly world-class quality to its forward line. And though we are yet to see how Slot will gel it all together, there have already been good signs. The Reds are already leading the standings in the Premier League, with difficult tests against Newcastle and Arsenal out of the way.

Here is the Liverpool.com verdict on the transfer gossip to emerge around the Reds today. Liverpool is expected to return for Marc Guehi in 2026 and he isn't the only player on the agenda.

Michael Olise (Bayern Munich)

Michael Olise has been mentioned as a possible option for Liverpool lately, with one eye on eventually succeeding Mohamed Salah, whose existing contract runs until the summer of 2027.

According to the German outlet Absolut Fussball, Liverpool could make a move for Olise in 2026, with Manchester City and PSG also circling. Valued as highly as $188 million (£138 million), Olise joined Bayern Munich from Crystal Palace a year ago.

The French winger has gone up a level since leaving England. Not turning 24 until December, there is still more than enough time for him to return to the Premier League later in his career.

Olise scored 12 goals and created another 15 in the Bundesliga last season, across 34 appearances.

Liverpool.com says: Olise is a very good player and with Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz arriving this summer, it does look like Liverpool has one eye on the future already. He will never score as often as Salah, but no one will.

Robinho Jr (Santos)

If the name Robinho sounds familiar, that is because his father is the former Manchester City and Real Madrid winger. And Liverpool is supposedly in for his son.

According to the Daily Mail, the Reds have been scouting the Santos teenager, 17, who is currently playing alongside Neymar. Already a Brazilian U20 international, Robinho Jr is said to have a $58 million (£43 milllion) release clause.

Having seen Real Madrid and Chelsea go big on several young talents in recent years with good success (think Rodrygo, Vinicius Junior, Endrick and now Estevao), it is perhaps time for Liverpool to get in on the act.

The Reds' owners, FSG, are continuing to consider clubs to purchase and form a multi-club model, which such transfers could lend themselves to nicely in terms of bridging loan spells.

Liverpool.com says: Robinho Jr sounds like a promising talent. Liverpool is now in a position where it can look to players like this given that its senior squad is in good shape and without the need for major surgery.
