There is just a matter of days left before the transfer window shuts, and all remains quiet at Liverpool.

The Reds have been busy moving some of their youngers players in and out this month, but no major signings or outgoings have been made, despite plenty of speculation.

Whether that will change before the February 2 deadline remains to be seen, with Arne Slot having suggested the club will resist the urge to dip into the market. Plenty of players continue to be linked with moves to Anfield, while there is still speculation surrounding a potential exit for Andy Robertson.

Here is the Liverpool.com verdict on the transfer gossip to emerge around the Reds today.

Morgan Rogers (Aston Villa)

Morgan Rogers is the subject of interest from Liverpool, Ben Jacobs has told GiveMeSport.

While backing up reports this week that the Reds are not pursuing Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton, despite social media claims that the midfielder has already agreed a contract, Rogers has been put forward as a player who could be more likely to make the move to Anfield.

Jacobs suggests that the Aston Villa star is “the type of profile some within Liverpool appreciate”, and that if the club is to go after a midfielder in the summer, it would be one that can provide goals and also play in the wide areas.

Liverpool's home and away strips for the 2025/26 season are the first in their new partnership with adidas.

Fans can order jerseys in the US at Fanatics.com or via the LFC Online Store in both the US and across the world.

Liverpool.com says: Rogers would certainly be an interesting signing, and one that might prove popular with fans given he has been impressing with Villa this season.

Having said that, Liverpool's priorities should lie elsewhere, and the defense needs to be top of the list. Rogers might come into the thinking thereafter for the wide areas, but the Reds may look at some more natural wingers in that case, not to mention ones that would be cheaper.

Jeremy Jacquet (Rennes)

Jeremy Jacquet is under consideration by Liverpool, according to The Times. The Rennes defender’s name has featured regularly in recent days, with claims that the Reds could be in a race with Chelsea and Bayern Munich for his signature.

The Blues have seemingly been leading the charge for the $83 million-rated star, although it has been suggested elsewhere that an agreement has not yet been reached with Rennes, which could open up the race in the summer.

Liverpool.com says: Expect to hear Jacquet's name a lot unless a club manages to agree a deal before the summer. There's no doubt that Liverpool needs a new center-back, and a 20-year-old one would set the club up nicely for the future.

If the Reds were to win the race for Jacquet though, they shouldn't stop there. Virgil van Dijk is 34, Ibrahima Konate may be on his way out, and Joe Gomez has been linked with a move away for some time. We might be seeing a complete revamp at the back soon.
