Even before Mohamed Salah's bombshell exit announcement, Liverpool's summer plans were already of the utmost importance.
Earlier this week, the Egyptian king stunned the Anfield fanbase upon announcing his intention to leave the club at the end of the season. On top of the seemingly impossible job of replacing a player as iconic as the 33-year-old, Arne Slot has work to do to fix the deficiencies throughout his squad.
Months before the opening of the window, a series of names have been touted as possible options with links of a creative outlet being discussed as well as a former target of the Reds reportedly having his say on a move to Anfield.

According to Ben Jacobs of GiveMeSport, Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers has an admirer in Liverpool ahead of the summer transfer window. The Reds are reportedly among several clubs who hold an appreciation in the attacking midfielder.
Despite signing a bumper new six-year contract last November, rumblings of a possible exit this summer have been constant despite Villa's superb chase for Champions League football next season.
Jacobs took to X to claim that the Reds could plan a move for a creative midfielder with Rogers certainly fitting the bill with 10 goals and seven assists to his name this season across all competitions.

Liverpool.com says: There's no doubt Morgan Rogers is a hugely talented player that can shine on the greatest stage. However, with Florian Wirtz occupying the No. 10 position, signing the Aston Villa man to take up a position on the wing certainly seems like a bit of a waste of his abilities.
Aurelien Tchouameni (Real Madrid)

Aurelien Tchouameni was a key target for Liverpool before and after his 2022 move to Real Madrid with Jurgen Klopp keen to add the Frenchman to spruce up his then-aging midfield. However, the 26-year-old has remained in the Spanish capital and has played an integral role under Carlo Ancelotti, Xabi Alonso and now Alvaro Arbeloa.
Amid yet another likely expensive summer of incomings for Liverpool, reports of Arne Slot's side making another move for the France international have emerged. However, Spanish reports have shared an update on the midfielder's situation, claiming he has no intention of leaving the football giants.
Under contract at the club until the summer of 2028, it's said despite Liverpool and Manchester United reportedly holding an interest in Tchouameni, Madrid do not want to sell him and could very well extend his contract before next season.
Liverpool.com says: A move for Tchouameni would certainly be an appealing one given the lack of a defensive presence in Arne Slot's midfield this season. The Frenchman was also a key target for the club under Jurgen Klopp before his move to Madrid so it's hard to see that interest waning in the four years he's established himself in the cauldron that is the Santiago Bernabeu.
