Liverpool and Arne Slot experienced a relatively quiet January transfer window, but speculation hasn't ceased as we move into February.
The Reds must now wait until summer to strengthen their squad, though they've already established foundations to bring in new talent ahead of next season. Liverpool managed to beat Chelsea to the signing of promising defender Jeremy Jacquet from Rennes.
Jacquet won't link up with the Liverpool squad until the summer, despite the Reds being heavily linked with defensive additions during the winter window. Slot's players will now focus their attention on returning to Premier League action at the weekend.

Joel Ordonez boost
Liverpool has received positive news concerning the future of Club Brugge star Joel Ordonez. The Reds have been linked with a move for the defender in recent weeks, though other clubs expressed interest before Monday's deadline.
It's believed that Crystal Palace lodged a bid for Ordonez on deadline day, but this was swiftly rejected by Brugge, and no subsequent offer has since been reported. Liverpool was rumored to be chasing Ordonez earlier in the transfer window before securing a deal for Jacquet from Rennes.
Whether the Merseyside outfit will remain linked with a move for Ordonez in the forthcoming weeks and months remains unclear.
Curtis Jones claim
The agent of Inter Milan midfielder Davide Frattesi has disclosed that Liverpool prevented Curtis Jones from leaving Anfield during the January transfer window.
Jones was linked with a switch to Inter ahead of Monday's deadline, with reports indicating a loan deal with an option to buy was under consideration.

However, Liverpool declined to approve Jones' departure before the window shut, which subsequently impacted Nottingham Forest's bid to land Frattesi.
Giuseppe Riso, Frattesi's representative, has explained how Liverpool's choice to keep Jones at Anfield derailed the Inter midfielder's possible move.
"There was interest from Lazio and Nottingham," Riso told Sky Sports Italy. "Then Liverpool wouldn't let Jones go, and in the end, everything ground to a halt.
"Inter don't want to do without him right now and didn't want to move on."
