Liverpool transfer news LIVE: AC Milan game, Alexander Isak latest, Luis Diaz to Bayern Munich

9 hours ago 22

Having already beaten Preston North End and Stoke City in pre-season, Liverpool will take on AC Milan today in Hong Kong. And we should get a proper look at Florian Wirtz for the first time.

It’s now just three weeks until Liverpool’s Premier League campaign gets underway, and the Reds’ squad is looking in excellent shape ahead of the big kick-off.

Fans were promised an "exciting summer" by Virgil van Dijk before the end of the previous campaign, but supporters couldn’t have quite expected this level of business from the champions.

Seven players have so far arrived since the window opened, including headline names Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez and Hugo Ekitike.

But another signing could surpass the excitement generated by those transfers. Few thought Alexander Isak remained a possibility when Ekitike’s deal was confirmed on Wednesday, but now a move from Newcastle United looks like a distinct possibility.

Elsewhere, an improved bid for Luis Diaz is expected from Bayern Munich, Harvey Elliott has again spoken about his future, Ibrahima Konate has reportedly received an improved contract offer, and Marc Guehi’s position remains in the spotlight.

Alexander Isak offered incredible salary

Alexander Isak has been offered a staggering contract worth more than $800k (£600k) per week tax free by the Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal with further lucrative bonuses on top!

That is according to The Guardian. Isak, of course, is also admired by Liverpool. His preference is thought to be the Reds, where he would earn a lot less but win a lot more.
