Liverpool trio drop team news hint as Arne Slot faces big decision vs Man Utd

Three Liverpool players have given subtle indications about their participation in the upcoming Premier League clash against Manchester United, as they aim to return to their best form.

After a stellar start to the season with seven consecutive victories across all competitions, the Reds suffered three successive defeats prior to the October international break, with both their Premier League losses coming from last-minute goals.

The Premier League's return presents an ideal chance for Liverpool to rebound. Arne Slot's squad will face off against Manchester United at Anfield on Sunday afternoon. For this match, Slot will need to decide whether to include big-money summer recruit Florian Wirtz. The attacking midfielder was benched for their recent match against Chelsea.

While Wirtz has remained silent on social media, some of his colleagues have not. Midfielder Ryan Gravenberch posted a video on social media featuring Anfield and a pre-match graphic previewing the game.

He was accompanied by full-back Jeremie Frimpong who shared a graphic preview of the fixture, including the words 'You'll never walk alone'.

The third player to tease the game on social media is midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai. He posted a pre-match graphic featuring himself in a Liverpool kit with Anfield in the backdrop.

Whilst these graphics don't necessarily confirm which players will be in the starting eleven, they do indicate who is expected to feature in the Liverpool squad - as anticipated.

Both Gravenberch and Szoboszlai have been regular starters throughout this campaign, but Frimpong's situation tells a different story.

The club's summer acquisition was absent for the Premier League fixtures against Newcastle United and Arsenal in August due to a hamstring problem.

Despite recovering from the issue, he has yet to earn a Premier League start since and remained on the bench throughout the defeat to Chelsea prior to the international break.

He entered the pitch as a second-half replacement against Crystal Palace towards the end of last month, but was held responsible by Slot for the Eagles' stoppage-time winner.

"We can only blame ourselves for defending the way we did," the manager said.

"One of our players ran out because he wanted to play a counter-attack, which was of no use because time was up, so it was only about defending. One player was too offensively minded - in that moment - which led to them scoring the winner and us losing the game."
