Liverpool unveils striking Adidas third kit after record-breaking boost as debut confirmed

12 hours ago 3

Adidas has unveiled the Liverpool FC third kit for the 2025/26 season, with the outfield version a striking green color and the goalkeeper edition a sleek black design.

Available to purchase now, the new green third strip is inspired by classic Liverpool and Adidas designs from the 1990s and early 2000s. It will be available in three different versions short-sleeve, long-sleeve, and a newly created cropped version.

Described as a design that "blends heritage with modern performance to honor one of the most iconic eras in the club’s history", the green jersey will be accompanied by white shorts and green socks.

On the reverse of the shirt, the 97-emblem encased by the eternal flames sits on the nape of the neck. On the front, the kit also brings back the classic crest that Liverpool used from 1987-1992, uniting memories of the past with a modern look for today’s team.

As well as the green third strip and the all-black goalkeeper kit, Liverpool has also unveiled an extensive training range, fashionable culture wear, hats and accessories, and an LFC Gazelle trainer.

The launch of the third kit follows the club’s record-breaking start to its new 10-year partnership with German sports giant Adidas. More home and away kits were sold in the first month of being on sale than ever before.

Meanwhile, Liverpool's flagship club store — outside The Kop and Main Stand at Anfield — had its busiest ever week after the initial launch. The newly refurbished outlet saw record footfall.

Liverpool's record signing, Florian Wirtz, who arrived for a fee that could reach around $155 million (£116 million) from Bayer Leverkusen earlier in the summer, was the number one best seller for name and number printing on newly purchased shirts in the first seven days.

Fellow new signing Alexander Isak is likely to attract a similar level of interest after moving from Newcastle United. His debut could come against Burnley while wearing the green strip.

This is the third time that Liverpool has worn Adidas shirts. There was first a partnership between 1985 and 1996, and then again from 2006 to 2012. During those periods, the Reds won three top-flight league titles and three FA Cups.

The home shirt features a clean all-red colorway, with the trademark white Adidas three stripes down the sleeves.

The away top is a nod to some classic Liverpool away shirts, featuring an off-white base with black and red detailing. The Liver Bird is framed within a shield, which is a design inspired by the shape of Anfield’s Main Stand from 1906.

The club received orders from more than 150 countries, and 70 per cent of total purchases to date have been made via Liverpool's e-commerce platform.

Supporters can get their hands on the new third kit today from LFC’s official online store, in official LFC stores (UK and internationally) and the Liverpool FC Store App for delivery. The club is offering a 10 per cent discount off the price of the third kit to All Red Members.

The men’s first team will debut the new third kit on Sunday (September 14) against Burnley. LFC women will wear the new third kit for the first time on November 22 against Sheffield United in the Women’s League Cup.
