Arsenal endured an injury concern against Olympiacos as Gabriel Magalhaes picked up a knock during the Champions League encounter on Wednesday.
The Gunners defender was substituted by Cristhian Mosquera as Mikel Arteta made a cautious decision to withdraw the Brazil international, who was capable of continuing. Liverpool will be keeping a close eye on Gabriel's fitness, as he's a key member of Arteta's starting XI and is set to play a big role in this season's Premier League title race.
Gabriel was escorted from the field by physios as Arteta refused to take any chances, given the squad depth available to him. The robust defender came off second best following a clash with opposition goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis, having seemed to pull up moments earlier.
Medical attention was needed for the Arsenal player as his manager opted to substitute a crucial figure while the physios carried out their assessment on the pitch.
The center-back took his seat in the technical area alongside his teammates rather than making his way down the tunnel for additional treatment from Arsenal's medical team.
Gabriel's problem also seemed to be nothing serious by the final whistle.
The defender re-emerged onto the pitch after the match had concluded and appeared to be moving comfortably. Arteta disclosed after the match that his player initially experienced discomfort during the first half.
The manager explained: "He was struggling a bit with a kick in the first half and we took him off. He was a bit uncomfortable. He could carry on, but we chose not to take a risk."
Gabriel Martinelli had previously put Arsenal ahead 1-0 following some excellent work from Viktor Gyokeres.
However, Arsenal found itself under increasing pressure as the match progressed. The visitors had a goal disallowed due to offside, with Chiquinho finding the back of the net, but Ayoub El Kaabi was caught offside in the lead-up.
Bukaya Saka, who was brought on late in the match, managed to slot a shot past Olympiacos goalkeeper Tzolakis in the 92nd minute, securing a victory for the home team.
Following the match, goalscorer Martinelli shared his thoughts on Arsenal's win. "This is Champions League," he stated.
"They are a really good side with really good players. We could have scored more in the first half. We had some chances."
When asked about the depth of his team, the Brazilian forward responded positively. "It's good for the club," he added.
"We want to have the best players around us. We have a really good group. We want to win every title, and that's what we will try to do. We play for Arsenal and we want to win every game of the season and every trophy."
