Manchester City's opponents on Saturday, Newcastle United, thrashed Qarabag 6-1 in the first leg of their Champions League play-off on Wednesday night.
Newcastle United head coach Eddie Howe has claimed his team look to have figured out how to play away from home after thrashing Qarabag 6-1 in the first leg of their Champions League play-off ahead of their trip to Manchester City this weekend. The Magpies made the lengthy trip across Europe on Wednesday night and have put themselves in a brilliant position to qualify for the knockout stages.
Anthony Gordon stole the show for Newcastle as his four goals coupled with Malick Thiaw's strike put Newcastle in dreamland before half-time. The second half was much tighter and despite Qarabag pulling one back through Elvin Cafarguliyev, Jacob Murphy restored the five-goal advantage with less than 20 minutes to play.
Howe's men will play their fourth consecutive away game on Saturday night when they visit City in the Premier League. The hefty win in the Champions League followed successful trips to Tottenham and Aston Villa.

When asked about winning three games in a row away from home, Howe said: "It looks like, with the run of away games, we've worked out how to play away. It's been a really good return, the last three games. We've had really tough games, navigated them really well and I think we've shown that we're a good team, so I'm really happy with where we're at, at the moment."
The Blues' next home game on Saturday is against Newcastle and the fixture has taken on added significance due to Arsenal's result at Wolverhampton Wanderers on Wednesday night. The Gunners had been leading 2-0 against the Premier League's bottom club but a late Riccardo Calafiori own goal rescued a point for Wolves and piled further pressure on Mikel Arteta's men.
