Luis Diaz left in disbelief at 'brutal' Harry Kane in Bayern Munich training

Harry Kane's new Bayern Munich colleague, Luis Diaz, has been singing his praises, confessing that he didn't fully appreciate the England skipper's prowess until he witnessed it up close on the training ground.

Diaz made the switch from Liverpool to Munich this summer after a period of uncertainty surrounding his future. He followed in Kane's footsteps, leaving the Premier League for the Bundesliga, a move that finally saw the ex-Tottenham striker lift significant silverware.

Now, both Diaz and Kane are united in their quest to help Bayern retain their German title and clinch the Champions League under the guidance of Vincent Kompany.

When Diaz first set foot at Anfield in January 2022, Kane was at the peak of his game for Tottenham, but he departed England a year and a half later. Having seen Kane amass an impressive 20 goal contributions already this season, Diaz didn't hesitate when asked who had caught his eye since his move to Munich.

Speaking to Bild, the Colombian winger said: "Harry Kane. From my time at Liverpool, when he was still at Tottenham, I knew he scored a lot of goals. But when I trained with him for the first time, I thought: 'This guy is brutal.'

"He does everything – scores goals, controls the game, and even defends. He totally surprised me. I'm very happy to be able to play alongside him now."

Kane netted a brace during Tuesday evening's emphatic 5-1 triumph over Pafos in the Champions League, extending his phenomenal tally for Bayern to an extraordinary 102 strikes in just 105 appearances.

His exceptional goal-scoring exploits for the Bavarian outfit have sparked renewed speculation that he might consider a Premier League comeback - possibly with Tottenham - as soon as next summer.

However, he emphasised last week that thoughts of an English return were far from his priorities, despite reports suggesting they had uncovered specifics regarding an exit clause within the striker's deal.

"No, I'm not thinking about a Premier League return at the moment. I'm really happy here," he responded when questioned about transfer speculation.

"I have two years left on my contract. I'm enjoying every moment. Bayern is the best place to win trophies, absolutely."
