Luis Diaz's Bayern Munich salary and contract length revealed as clubs 'optimistic' over agreement

Despite a firm stance from Liverpool, supporters are increasingly facing up to the possibility that Luis Diaz could depart Anfield this summer.

The winger’s future has been a major question over the past year or so, with speculation only growing over recent weeks as Bayern Munich has stepped up its attempts to sign him.

The German giant has already had one bid turned down, but another offer is being lined up, with Liverpool getting prepared for it. The Reds have maintained that Diaz is not for sale this summer, although the Colombian already looks to have made up his mind.

According to various sources, Diaz has told Liverpool he wants to leave, with reports from his homeland earlier this summer suggesting he was not happy with the club not being willing to give him a new contract.

The 28-year-old has made no secret of the fact that he has been speaking to other clubs during the summer as he weighs up his options, adding to the feeling among many fans that Liverpool may eventually make a U-turn on its stance.

Barcelona was seen as his ideal destination for a long time, although that looks to be off the table now with the La Liga champion not willing to meet whatever hefty price tag Liverpool has set, and with Marcus Rashford now set to move to the Camp Nou on loan.

Bayern has therefore emerged as the frontrunner for his signature, with Vincent Kompany’s side on the hunt for a new winger after Leroy Sane’s departure, and having already been beaten to Florian Wirtz by Liverpool.

Now, according to Bild, details of the potential deal Diaz is being offered in Munich have emerged.

It’s claimed that the Bundesliga champion is offering him a four-year deal with a salary of $315,000 per week before tax.

That would be a huge increase on his wages at Anfield, which the Liverpool Echo revealed earlier this month to be around $189,000 a week.

As things stand, though, that offer might mean very little, with Liverpool not holding any plans to sell Diaz.

The winger is with the Reds in Hong Kong at the moment, although he is yet to feature in either of the pre-season friendlies against Preston or Stoke City so far.

Speaking about his future earlier this month, Diaz said: "We don't know yet. Nothing, nothing (to say).

"We're there talking with the management, we're calm where I am. So nothing (to say), we're talking about matters."
