PSG manager Luis Enrique was left impressed by Liverpool in the Champions League second leg at Anfield — only making him even more proud that his side progressed.
Next up, PSG will take on either Bayern Munich or Real Madrid in the semi-finals. And across the course of the two matches against Liverpool, there is no doubt that the Champions League holder was the deserving winner.
"It was an intense match between two teams who played really good football," Enrique said on Amazon Prime. "The first half was more for us. We could create a few chances.

We suffered a lot, they pressed hard but we overcome the press two times and scored two goals.
"If you try to win those kind of matches you need high intensity and defense as a team, today we showed we are ready to play with the ball but when we don't have the ball we can do it.
"It is a different history because last year we thought we could not go (far) in the Champions League because we were so young. We became the champions but we need to grow and I think we can grow."

Liverpool had its moments and looked livelier than it has for a good while. However, the Reds were unable to make the breakthrough, and PSG was ruthless at the other end when it had some second-half chances.
"We are so happy that we were able to win this game because it was really difficult, especially in the second half," Ousmane Dembele, who scored twice, said.
"We were able to find a way to win, we are delighted. I think we're at the same level as we were last season and hopefully we can win the semi-final, and achieve the same as last season and win it."
When Hugo Ekitike was stretchered off and Alexander Isak was only able to play 45 minutes, the task became even harder for a Liverpool team lacking depth.

"Much has been said that the club is in a transition. The club has sold eight or 10 players to make money to sign five or so very talented players. We have to sell to buy.
"We are losing some players on a free transfer. It is a big challenge in the summer but the club has shown this model works.
"As I said many times the future looks very good, especially if we can sign players after good players leaving this summer."
