Luka Vuskovic completes season-long loan move from Tottenham to get regular first-team football

Tottenham Hotspur defender Luka Vuskovic will be playing in the Bundesliga next season, with his departure on loan being officially confirmed by Hamburg.

Vuskovic impressed for Tottenham in pre-season, showcasing just why there is so much hype surrounding him.

The 18-year-old was an unused substitute in Spurs’ games against Paris Saint-Germain, Burnley and Manchester City, but the fact that he made the matchday squad suggests that he is certainly in Thomas Frank’s plans for the future.

Vuskovic has been attracting plenty of loan interest from around Europe since the start of the summer, and the defender has now sealed a temporary switch away from N17.

Luka Vuksovic joins Hamburg on a season-long loan deal

It emerged on Wednesday that Tottenham had given the green light for Vuskovic to complete a loan switch to Hamburg.

That move has now been signed and sealed, with Spurs confirming that the centre-back will spend the upcoming season at Volksparkstadion.

As expected, the loan move does not come with a purchase option, and Vuskovic is set to be reunited with his older brother, Mario, who plays for Hamburg but is currently serving a ban until November 2026.

Vuskovic will get plenty of game time at Hamburg

While the Bundesliga is a big step up from the Belgian top-flight, where the centre-back played last season, he can expect to get a decent amount of game time.

Hamburg have only been promoted back to the Bundesliga this season after spending seven years out of the German top-flight, and they are thus not blessed with the kind of options some of their rivals are.

Vuskovic has confidently set his sights on becoming a first-team fixture at Tottenham, and the youngster will hope to catch the eye of his employers by doing well at the north German club.
