Luka Vuskovic is only at the start of his career, but the Tottenham teenager is already clear in his mind about where he wants to finish his journey.
Vuskovic has joined Hamburg on a season-long loan deal, and the 18-year-old will look to take the next step up in his career, which has already taken him to Poland, Belgium, England, and now Germany.
The teenager made his debut for the Croatian national side on the back of his outstanding showing on loan at Westrlo last campaign.
Vuskovic impressed many at Spurs during pre-season, and he will hope to catch the eye of his parent club by proving his mettle in the Bundesliga this term.
Luka Vuskovic wants to return to Croatia after Tottenham
Vuskovic has confidently set his sights on becoming a first-team fixture at Tottenham in the future, and one certainly would not put that beyond him, given his dramatic rise over the last couple of years.
However, the young centre-back has admitted that wherever his career takes him, he wants to eventually return to his boyhood club, Hajduk Split, to win silverware.
The Spurs man told Germanijak: “Who knows where my career will go, but I want to return to Hajduk and finish where it all started. Maybe it’s not normal to think like this now, because I’m still at the beginning, but my ultimate dream is to play a season in Hajduk with my brother and win the trophy we dreamed of as kids.”
Vuskvoic’s next step could be at Tottenham
Clubs from across Europe wanted to sign Vuskovic on loan this summer, but in the end, the teenager decided that he wanted to reunite with his older brother, Mario, at Hamburg.
Should the Croat do as well in the Bundesliga as he did in the Jupiler Pro League last season, one would not put it beyond the youngster to potentially fight for a place in the Tottenham squad next season.
Reports indicated that Frank and his coaching staff were left very impressed with Vuskovic during pre-season.
