Luka Vuskovic update as Tottenham Hotspur work hard on key summer transfer

4 hours ago 12

The race for Luka Vuskovic’s signature continues to intensify, and one Bundesliga club are continuing to work hard to convince Tottenham to send the Croat to them.

While the 18-year-old has shown promise in pre-season, he might find it hard to get game time at N17 this term, with Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, Kevin Danso, Radu Dragusin, and potentially summer signing, Kota Takai, ahead of him in the pecking order.

Vuskovic is attracting plenty of loan interest from around Europe, with Tottenham contemplating where to send the teenager on the back of his outstanding spell in Belgium with Westerlo last term.

It was revealed a few days ago that Hamburg were locked in talks with Tottenham over a loan deal for Vuskovic, with the Spurs man potentially set to be united with his older brother at the German side.

Hamburg are working hard to sign Luka Vuskovic from Tottenham

A new report in Hamburger Abendblatt has now denied claims that Tottenham have agreed to send the centre-back to the newly promoted Bundesliga side.

The outlet says that the Premier League side are yet to decide on where to send Vuskovic as they assess the various offers on the table.

Hamburger are pulling out all stops to get the deal over the line, with the club’s sporting director Stefan Kuntz and their director of professional football, Claus Costa, currently focused on the deal.

The publication says that the pair are ‘working hard’ to ensure that the Spurs defender ends up at the Volksparkstadion this summer.

Spurs are carefully considering Vuskovic’s options

Hamburger Abendblatt make it clear that Tottenham are not in a hurry as they ‘want to carefully consider which club is the right one’ for the centre-back.

Just a couple of days ago, a report from a Croatian outlet claimed that Spurs had turned down Besiktas’ loan approach for Vuskovic.

It was asserted that Tottenham feel that the 18-year-old might come under too much pressure playing for the Turkish giants at this stage of his career.
