Yves Bissouma has been linked with a move away from Tottenham Hotspur and a new report has revealed if he will still be in North London by the end of the day.
Yves Bissouma has never really hit the heights he was expected to reach at Tottenham Hotspur. However, there was some belief he could remain at the club after some impressive displays at the back end of last season, including the Europa League final.
Things took a turn for the worse, as Thomas Frank dropped Bissouma for the UEFA Super Cup as disciplinary action, after several late returns to training. Since then, the midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to Turkey and some reports claimed Bissouma would swap Spurs for Galatasaray
An agreement had been made between the two clubs, but Galatasaray called off the deal to sign Bissouma. Now, with only hours left in the summer transfer, Bissouma is still a Tottenham player.
Yves Bissouma will remain at Tottenham
According to The Sun, Bissouma’s immediate future has been all but confirmed and it is not good news for Tottenham supporters. The 29-year-old is likely to stay at Spurs and will not move elsewhere before the transfer window closes tonight.
Bissouma has not made an appearance for Tottenham this season, but this is due to a muscle injury, rather than further disciplinary action.
If Bissouma does stay at Spurs, he will be allowed to sign a pre-contract agreement with another club in January as his contract expires next summer. This means Tottenham will not receive a transfer fee when he departs. The only way to change this would be to offer Bissouma a new contract, which seems unlikely.
Which other wantaways could remain at Tottenham?
Bissouma is not the only Spurs player to have been linked with an exit, yet remains at the club.
Manor Solomon was expected to be shown the door, but he is yet to leave and was even named in the matchday squad last Saturday to face Bournemouth. There is a three-horse race to sign Solomon, but Thomas Frank is said to want to give him a chance at Spurs.
Bryan Gil is another who should already have been offloaded. The Telegraph have reported that Spurs could work to find a move for Gil, another player whose contract expires next summer.
Today is the last day that Tottenham have a chance to bring in a transfer fee, otherwise, he will eventually become another free agent.
