Man charged after Hearts player struck by lighter

A man has been charged after a Hearts player was struck by a lighter during a match against Dundee United last month.

The incident happened during the match Hearts won 3-2 at Tannadice on Sunday 10 August.

An investigation was launched after a lighter was reported to have been thrown from the stands.

Police Scotland said a 23-year-old man had now been arrested and charged in connection with alleged assault. He was released on an undertaking to appear in court at a later date.
