Manchester City winger Oscar Bobb has played down injury concerns after a scan on his thigh while on international duty with Norway.

Bobb joined his international teammates late after feeling the problem during City's defeat to Brighton. He was fit enough to feature in the friendly win against Finland and could play against Moldova in a World Cup qualifier on Tuesday.

When he arrived in camp with Norway, the 22-year-old was assessed by medics and given a clean bill of health to stay with the national team. He now looks to build on a promising start to the season with City.

“It was nothing," Bobb said of his injury concerns. "I felt something in my thigh, and then it turned out there was nothing."

Bobb played the full 90 minutes against Finland to prove his fitness, having played all but 15 minutes of City's first three league games of the season.

He is making up for lost time after a broken leg led to him missing almost all of last season and he has been one of the bright spots in City's stuttering start to the campaign.

Bobb has taken advantage of Phil Foden's lack of fitness and Savinho's injury to start all three league games, but he isn't taking his status as first-choice left-winger for granted.

“It’s quite early. We’ve had a few injuries in my position. I wouldn’t say I’m guaranteed anything," he said.

"I don’t see myself as someone who has that spot completely. When I come back now, I focus on what I’ve always done. It’s everyday life, and training to get back into the team."

Pep Guardiola has praised Bobb this season and explained how much his side missed the Norwegian last term. The youngster has also revealed he has a strong working relationship with his club boss.

“It’s great. It’s always nice. Yes, good [his relationship with Guardiola]. He’s a very nice guy. We have a professional relationship. He’s nice," said Bobb.
