Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola will not get any reinforcements in time for their Champions League game with Bodo/Glimt.
Omar Marmoush is not expected to travel with Manchester City to Norway with Pep Guardiola missing at least 10 players for their Champions League trip. Marmoush came off the bench in Egypt's third-place AFCON match on Saturday and missed a penalty in the shootout as Nigeria claimed the podium place, and Guardiola is not counting on the striker to be back and ready to fly with the City squad on Monday.
That will make it 12 games that Marmoush has missed while representing his country and City's issues do not stop there. Matheus Nunes joined a lengthy injury list before the Manchester derby and may not make Tuesday's game, while Phil Foden is a doubt after appearing to injure his hand in the game; he was withdrawn at half-time in a dismal 2-0 defeat that leaves the Blues needing a boost in the Arctic Circle.
Mateo Kovacic, John Stones, Ruben Dias, Josko Gvardiol, Oscar Bobb and Savinho are all long-term absentees for City, while Nico Gonzalez has missed the last two matches. January signing Antoine Semenyo is not eligible to play in the Champions League until the knockout rounds begin, and the same will apply to Marc Guehi whether or not City can finalise his signing before they travel on Monday; Bernardo Silva is suspended for one game after picking up three yellow cards.

It means that Guardiola will not have any reinforcements for Tuesday's game, which the club are looking to win to try to confirm a top-eight place and avoid the Champions League play-off round that saw them knocked out last season and forces two extra games onto the schedule. Max Alleyne could make his Champions League debut, given he qualifies as a List B player after returning from Watford on loan.
Erling Haaland was taken off before the end at Old Trafford after failing to find the net from open play for the seventh consecutive game. Guardiola had previously said that Marmoush's return would allow his striker to rest, but the manager does not want to diminish the importance of his No.9 as he looks to bring him back into form.
"Omar is an exceptional player and his movements in behind are extraordinary, but it would be so poor from me to say the reason why we didn't get results today or previously is because Omar isn't here," he said. "It's up to us and all the guys here to try to do it.
"We need Erling and we need all of them. When Omar comes, Erling is going to play. Erling is so important for us and we will see what happens in the next game. We have to travel to Norway and see how they recover, not just physically but I can smell how they feel, and continue.
"We did it last season and we continue this one and we have players coming back soon and we try to be there."
