Manchester City are reportedly putting plans in place for the January transfer window to rescue their title hopes against Arsenal. The Gunners have a six-point lead at the top of the Premier League table, with Aston Villa and City both on the same number of points in second and third place, respectively.
The weekend saw Arsenal gain an advantage in the title race thanks to their 3-2 win over Bournemouth and City’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea a day later.
The January transfer window is open, which gives the Gunners and the rest of the Premier League a chance to go into the market for new signings should they wish to do so.

BBC Sport are reporting that City are expressing an interest in signing Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi.
The report claims that the Etihad Stadium outfit are yet to make an approach to the Eagles, but are stepping up their interest in response to recent injuries.
Sunday’s draw with Chelsea saw City handed injury blows to Ruben Dias and Josko Gvardiol.
Both players left the pitch with injuries in the second half in Manchester, leaving Pep Guardiola’s side with Nathan Ake and Abdukodir Khusanov as their centre-back pairing that finished the game.
Liverpool have also been heavily linked with signing Guehi in the past, particularly during the summer transfer window.
The Anfield outfit agreed a £35million deal to sign Guehi from Palace on deadline day in September, only for the move to fall through at the eleventh hour, which has seen the England international spend the first half of the campaign at Selhurst Park.
Arsenal are well-stocked in the centre-back department but have been forced to deal with their own injury concerns this season.
Gabriel Magalhaes has spent time on the sidelines with an adductor injury, but Cristhian Mosquera is currently unavailable with an ankle injury.
Piero Hincapie and William Saliba have also been on the sidelines earlier in the season, as have Ben White, Jurrien Timber and Riccardo Calafiori.
