Pep Guardiola continues to contend with a number of injury concerns ahead of Manchester City's pivotal showdown with Arsenal on Sunday. Arsenal go into the clash six points clear of their title rivals, but City also have a game in hand.
The Gunners stumbled last Saturday, suffering a 2-1 home defeat to Bournemouth, while City responded emphatically by dismantling Chelsea 3-0 at Stamford Bridge. With the Premier League title potentially hanging in the balance on Sunday, Guardiola conceded that a loss would essentially extinguish his side's championship aspirations.
"Yeah, obviously. If we lose, yeah, it's over," he said. "But the other two results, knowing Arsenal didn't win against Bournemouth, still they have games to play.
"Six games is a lot, our calendar, it's terrible I would say: Everton away, Bournemouth away, Aston Villa the last game at home, Burnley, Crystal Palace, and Brentford."
"Crystal Palace, look what's going on! Villa and Crystal Palace in Europe. Still many things to do..."
The manager also gave the latest injury news for his side ahead of the huge clash against Arsenal, including updates on Ruben Dias and Nico O'Reilly, among others.
Here, football.london has assessed the current injury picture at Man City.
Ruben Dias
Injury: Ankle.
The Portuguese defender missed the FA Cup victory over Liverpool after sustaining an injury in training and was unable to recover sufficiently for the trip to Chelsea. Guardiola has revealed that Dias will not recover in time to feature against Arsenal.
Potential return date: Burnley (A), April 22.
John Stones
Injury: Thigh
Stones has endured a torrid time with injuries this campaign and was forced to withdraw from the England squad last month. He missed the victory over Liverpool as a consequence and was similarly absent for the Chelsea fixture.
Potential return date: Burnley (A), April 22.
Josko Gvardiol
Injury: Leg
The Croatian suffered a broken leg in the reverse fixture against Chelsea back in January and remains a lengthy absentee.
A return before the season's conclusion remains possible, though nothing is certain.
Potential return date: May 2026.
Nico O'Reilly
Injury: Leg
O'Reilly came off after just over an hour in the Chelsea game with what looked like a hamstring injury and headed straight down the tunnel. He returned to the pitch at full-time and did not appear to be in much discomfort as he applauded the City fans that had made the journey down.
Guardiola has revealed the young star is available to face Arsenal, in a big boost for City.
Potential return date: Arsenal (H), April 19
