Manchester City will make a host of changes for the Carabao Cup tie with Huddersfield Town having fielded the same starting XI against Manchester United, Napoli and Arsenal
Pep Guardiola named the same starting XI for the third game in a row for Manchester City's game at Arsenal.
It's a rare occurrence and it was even more surprising to see the consistency in selection for three games in eight days of the intensity of a Manchester derby, a Champions League tie with Serie A title holders Napoli, and the game with the Gunners.
It was hard to argue with the selection decisions, given City cantered to victory over United and Napoli and earned a point at the Emirates that they would likely have taken before kick off, even if the last-gasp nature of Arsenal's equaliser was difficult to take.
But changes will surely now come against Huddersfield as the Blues begin their Carabao Cup campaign on Wednesday night.
City will be heavy favourites to beat their League One opponents and Guardiola may well include a few youngsters in the team.
But those who began the campaign on the bench at Arsenal - with the possible exception of John Stones, who may not be rushed back given his fitness issues - will surely start in Yorkshire.
James Trafford seems a certainty to start in goal, having lost his place in the first XI to deadline day arrival Gianluigi Donnarumma.
Matheus Nunes and Rico Lewis are competing for the same right-back start, but both have been left out of the side in recent weeks. There could be a return for the pair in midweek, with one at full back and the other slotting into midfield.
Nico Gonzalez will hope to get a run out in the middle of the park, while Savinho and Oscar Bobb will have eyes on the wide positions.
Nathan Ake, too, will likely come into the backline - potentially at left back given Rayan Ait-Nouri's absence and the need to ensure at least one of Nico O'Reilly or Josko Gvardiol remains fit enough to cover the Algerian's absence.
Stones could well start in the middle of defence, perhaps even with a planned half time substitution, but that decision will not be taken lightly given how the England international has struggled with fitness issues in recent times.
Of the young prospects, Divine Mukasa may be handed an opportunity to impress. The 18-year-old is highly thought of at the Etihad and came off the bench in the pre-season friendly win over Palermo to bag an assist.
He played twice in the EFL Trophy last term and has been a regular in the senior squad so far this season.
Stephen Mfuni could also earn a start. The left-footed centre back is only 17 but played in the EFL Trophy win over Oldham earlier in the season and has been a regular around the senior set-up.
