Manchester City beat Bournemouth 3-1 in the Premier League with a brace from Erling Haaland and another from Nico O'Reilly

Manchester City moved up to second in the Premier League table with a 3-1 win over Bournemouth. Pep Guardiola's side put their defeat to Aston Villa last week behind them to leapfrog the Cherries and remind the rest of the league that Arsenal's coronation is not inevitable.

Erling Haaland was central to their victory again, scoring his 16th and 17th goals of the season after enjoying a rest in midweek. He twice gave City the lead, with Tyler Adams having cancelled out his first effort after a goalkeeping error from Gianluigi Donnarumma.

City's keeper made a few important saves in the second half before Nico O'Reilly made the game safe with a sweet strike from inside the box. Here are the player ratings from the Manchester Evening News.

Donnarumma: He will claim a foul but it was really poor to hand Bournemouth an equaliser. Made some solid stops in the second half. 5

Nunes: Equipped himself very well against Semenyo in the latest impressive showing, as well as taking care of Brooks when their paths crossed. 7

Dias: Some thumping challenges and clearances that set the tone for a City defence that - goalie howler aside - was pretty good. 8

Gvardiol: Made a few perfect challenges to stop Bournemouth runners and looked more comfortable with O'Reilly next to him. 7

O'Reilly: Some storming runs up the pitch, one of which brought the crucial third goal to help City over the line. 8

Gonzalez: Brought calmness and authority in the first half as others lost their way, while also setting up Haaland's first. 8

Silva: Got his side into trouble on a few occasions with loose passes, but steadied himself in the second half. 6

Foden: Buzzed everywhere in the space behind Haaland, always seemingly free and nearly always improving a move with his contribution. 8

Cherki: Two assists for Haaland to put City in the driving seat and some lovely touches elsewhere, even if not everything came off. 8

Doku: Intriguingly played more through the middle than out wide, and had some good play but let himself down at times with careless touches. 6

Haaland: An outstanding first half, clinically latching onto two chances and dropping to set up teammates. Had less of an impact after the break. 8
