Manchester City sent a message to Arsenal with a thumping 3-0 win over Chelsea. Pep Guardiola's side followed up victories over the Gunners and Liverpool by cruising to an important Premier League victory at Stamford Bridge.

A turgid first half saw neither team impose themselves on the game, but from the first whistle of the second period City swarmed their opponents and did not let up. Rayan Cherki crossed for Nico O'Reilly to score and then passed into the box for Marc Guehi to add a second.

Jeremy Doku added a third to help City's goal difference on another emphatic afternoon for the Blues. Here are the player ratings from the Manchester Evening News.

Donnarumma: Made an important save from Neto early on, another from Cucurella late, and was good enough when Chelsea threatened aerially. 8

Nunes: Some wayward passing in the first half but steadied himself and was much calmer after the break. 7

Khusanov: Brought his usual no-nonsense defending and also nearly took the net off with a rasping effort from distance. 7

Guehi: Dealt with everything he needed to at the back and then finished like a striker for the second goal. 8

O'Reilly: Another strong performance with some barnstorming runs and then the finesse for the headed goal. 8

Rodri: An awful first half for his standards but he rallied and enjoyed himself as the game went on. 7

Silva: Another sterling performance and, most importantly, avoided a yellow card so can face Arsenal next week. 7

Cherki: Struggled to get on the ball facing forward until after the break, when he became the world-class talisman. 9

Semenyo: Will feel like he probably should have done better from the chances he had, although he did well to earn them. 7

Doku: Saw lots of the ball, wasn't able to do loads with it but still pounced to score the third goal. 7

Haaland: Another productive afternoon making space for his teammates, albeit he would have liked to have had more goal opportunities. 7
