Manchester City beat Crystal Palace 3-0 in the Premier League with two goals from Erling Haaland and one from Phil Foden
Manchester City moved back to within two points of Arsenal at the top of the Premier League after an impressive 3-0 win over Crystal Palace. A last-minute winner had been enough for Arsenal on Saturday night but Pep Guardiola's side showed that they do not intend on exiting the title race early.
Palace, who beat City in the FA Cup Final last year, had their moments and hit the bar in the first half when the game was goalless. However, Erling Haaland opened the scoring towards the end of the first half and Phil Foden continued his excellent form with a goal from outside the box.
Savinho was brought down in the box late on to earn a penalty and Haaland stepped up to add a second. Here are the player ratings from the Manchester Evening News
Donnarumma: Some important stops in the first half to keep the score level, and his goal kicks frustrated Palace. 7
Nunes: An excellent cross for Nunes and he played his part in a defence that really earned their clean sheet. 7
Dias: Excellent throughout, throwing his body on the line to block shots and in regular communication with teammates. 8
Gvardiol: One half of a terrific centre-back pairing to keep Mateta and the rest at bay, he is coming into form. 8
O'Reilly: A hesitant start with a few mistakes but he came on strongly in the second half with some key contributions. 7
Gonzalez: Gave the ball away in his own third more than once in mistakes that nearly cost City, but was involved a lot. 6
Silva: Put in his usual running shift to keep City whirling, charging about in the midfield to harass the Palace players. 7
Foden: His marvellous form continues, and after a big effort in midfield he relished the space for the goal. 8
Reijnders: Was involved in a number of good moves but nothing quite came off for him during the game. 6
Cherki: Took a while to get going but was excellent in the second half to drive City on for the win. 7
Haaland: Two goals and also played a part in the second, he was more involved than he has been recently. 9
