Manchester City continued their excellent form with a 2-0 win over Everton in the Premier League. Erling Haaland scored twice in the second half to put a stodgy start behind them.

City were seven unbeaten before the international break but Everton caused them a few problems in the first half, especially when Nathan Ake needlessly gave the ball away in his own half. However, City had the lion's share of possession and their control was turned into a lead when Nico O'Reilly crossed for Haaland just before the hour mark.

A few minutes later, Savinho teed up Haaland for a second and City never looked like conceding after that. Here are the player ratings from the Manchester Evening News.

Donnarumma: Made some decent saves and commanded his area to excellent effect to keep Everton at bay. 7

Nunes: Took care of his defensive duels and also proved to be a threat in the attacking third, eager to be involved on the ball. 8

Dias: Made sure nothing got past him and his bromance with Donnarumma builds with every game. 7

Ake: Looked unsure of himself against Beto and put City into trouble giving the ball away in his own half. 5

O'Reilly: The youngster goes from strength to strength with another towering performance that proved decisive in the game. 8

Gonzalez: Very good early on to ensure City had control of the game. Nothing flashy but promising. 7

Reijnders: The story of his last few weeks recently, bright enough but not able to be decisive. 6

Foden: Similar to Reijnders, he promised plenty and was involved for the second goal but left everyone wanting more. 6

Savinho: His finishing should have been better on a number of occasions in the first half, but he did pick up an assist. 6

Doku: Looked bright enough in the opening stages, he just couldn't convert that into teeing up chances. Could have done better in front of goal himself. 6

Haaland: The words to describe him are running out but his goal supply is not - two more for the tally. 8
