Manchester City booked their place in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup with a 3-1 win over Championship side Swansea City.
The Blues were made to work hard by the home team in South Wales as Goncalo Franco made a much-changed City side come from behind after a lovely opening goal. Jeremy Doku got the visitors level when his shot was deflected in close to half-time.
City dominated the second half but only took the lead with 15 minutes to go when Rayan Cherki's pass through to Omar Marmoush allowed the Egyptian to spring free of his marker and smash in a second before Cherki himself netted a stoppage time third. Here are the player ratings from the Manchester Evening News.
Trafford: Excellent save in the first half after Khusanov's error when already 1-0 down. 7
Lewis: Pushed up behind Marmoush whenever he could and linked well with Cherki on a number of occasions. 7
Khusanov: First appearance in six weeks but needs to be better - careless pass nearly let Swansea double their lead. 5
Ake: Struggled in footraces with lively Swansea attackers and didn't bring the command of the defence that was needed from a captain. 5
Ait-Nouri: Beaten too easily for the goal and booked for a needless tackle. Played the long ball that led to Doku's goal but not sharp enough. 5
Gonzalez: Played an important part in most of City's best bits, a calm presence in midfield but also able to push the tempo. 7
Bobb: Looked dangerous when he beat his man but there wasn't enough of it and he drifted in and out. 6
Mukasa: Some nice touches but couldn't keep himself in the game and was taken off for Foden with the game needing a winner. 6
Cherki: Demanded the ball on every occasion and made the difference for the second before adding the third. 8
Doku: Good bit of play for the equaliser, although he will want to have been more involved in the second half. 7
Marmoush: Nothing he did paid off for most of the game, but he stepped up when it mattered to bag the crucial second. 7
