Manchester City travel to Fulham on Tuesday night looking to follow up Saturday's victory over Leeds with another win
Pep Guardiola faces another conundrum this week as he decides whether or not to rotate his squad for the trip down to Fulham on Tuesday night. The Blues were not at their fluid best against Leeds and almost threw the game away after being 2-0 up at half-time.
Matheus Nunes did not cover himself in glory as he produced a poor clearance to gift Dominic Calvert-Lewin Leeds' first goal. We saw the best and the worst of Nunes against Daniel Farke's side and while the mistake was bad, he did excellently for Phil Foden's opener.
The 27-year-old has started every Premier League game for City since Burnley which points to how highly Guardiola rates him and for that reason he will likely keep his place in the squad. John Stones' recall will depend on whether either Ruben Dias or Josko Gvardiol is in need of a rest.
Should they be fit, both should start against Fulham and complete an unchanged back line. Further forward, Guardiola confirmed in his press conference Rodri is not ready yet to return to the team which means Nico Gonzalez will retain his place.
Guardiola also said he expects Fulham to be strong in transitions and keen to hit his side on the counter-attack. The hero on Saturday, Foden, is guaranteed a spot in the starting XI. Rayan Cherki and Omar Marmoush will be pushing to work their way back into the team but Tijjani Reijnders could be given another start.
Erling Haaland will of course lead the line. The Norwegian talisman is still searching for his 100th Premier League goal for the Blues having gone three games without a goal.
