Man City’s final Premier League points tally predicted after Arsenal title shake-up

After the latest batch of Premier League fixtures, Arsenal and Manchester City's final points tallies at the end of the campaign have been predicted

Manchester City have been tipped to fall just short in the Premier League title race against Arsenal.

The Cityzens have dragged themselves back into title contention in the last two weeks. They followed up their stunning comeback victory at Anfield by dispatching Fulham 3-0 at the Etihad Stadium.

In that same period, Arsenal were held to a 1-1 draw away to Brentford which has reduced the gap between the Gunners and City to just four points. Mikel Arteta's side face another Premier League fixture before City return to action, with Wolves their next opposition following this weekend's FA Cup fourth round ties.

Sky has slashed the price of its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle for the 2025/26 season, saving members £336 and offering more than 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more.

Sky will show at least 215 live Premier League games this season, an increase of up to 100 more.

While the title race is getting tighter and tighter, Opta Analyst have issued an updated forecast for how they expect the final standings will appear after the midweek round of matches.

The website has analysed the data and continues to predict Arsenal will claim the Premier League crown, concluding with a total of 82 (81.95) points.

The forecast has indicated City will finish as runners-up on 75 (74.52) points, which would leave them seven points adrift of Arsenal should this prove accurate.

Arsenal have been handed an 85.98 per cent probability of claiming the Premier League crown this season, positioning them as clear favourites to secure the silverware.

In contrast, City face just an 11.56 per cent likelihood of pipping Arsenal to the Premier League title. If anything, Pep Guardiola will not want his players to be glancing at the Premier League table, let alone the Opta Analyst.

The Catalan recently made it clear he does not want his side to be distracted by the title conversation. Before the victory at Fulham, Guardiola looked back on when his side were trailing Liverpool and looked set to fall nine-points behind Arsenal.

The ex-Barcelona manager said: "I understand how nice, nine points, three points this kind of stuff [is]. That’s OK, but that does not make winning titles or arriving in the latter stages to win or be close to fight to win the titles.

"Every time in the last month and last weeks when I go before the games in a flash interview, always if you lose you are losing everything and you are going to disappear from Planet Earth and this kind of stuff.

"What I’m saying is what we have to do to beat Fulham, what we have to do to be better and to be closer to make first half in Anfield and [not] the second. What is the reason why in the second half still we are dropping our performance?

"Not three, four five, six [points], because if we don’t do that we will not win, maybe not Fulham, maybe it’ll be against Newcastle or maybe in the next game at Leeds.”
